NFL Takeaways: Week 10

Another week, another boring bunch of NFL games.

Kind of noticing a theme this season…

Despite the boring games, there are no clear favorites in either conference. That’ll at least make the playoffs exciting.

Hopefully.

Dolphins defeat Ravens 22-10

Tua didn’t start the game, who knows the hell why, but when he came into the game it was extremely clear the Dolphins were a better team.

So maybe their struggles aren’t his fault…

Cowboys defeat Falcons 43-3

The Cowboys had a humiliating loss to the Broncos last week, while the Falcons were riding the high of winning against the Saints, their biggest rival.

So there was really only one possible way this game was going to go.

Titans defeat Saints 23-21

A lot of people thought the Titans would fall apart without Derrick Henry.

And that’s because a lot of people haven’t respected what Ryan Tannehill has done in the NFL since he joined the Titans in 2019.

He’s been one of the best QBs in football, and that’s not up for debate.

Colts defeat Jaguars 23-17

Trevor Lawrence has really struggled.

The team is bad and he’ll likely get better, but we can’t ignore that he has really struggled.

Patriots defeat Browns 45-7

The Patriots have back to back convincing wins against AFC playoff contenders and a weaker AFC.

They’re going to make the Super Bowl, aren’t they?

Bills defeat Jets 45-17

Great teams don’t lay eggs in back to back weeks.

The Jets had no chance to beat the Bills after they lost to the Jags last week.

Lions tie Steelers 16-16

Look, we could talk about this horrible, horrible football game that ended in a tie.

Or we could talk about how some Steelers and Lions players still didn’t know the game could even end in a tie.

Which, to be honest, they shouldn’t!

Implement college football overtime rules where there needs to be a winner.

And don’t you dare say it’s an issue of player safety, considering the NFL added a 17th game for each team for revenue purposes. They can play a couple more drives in overtime.

Washington defeats the Buccaneers 29-19

How do you prevent Tom Brady from another comeback win?

You have a glorious 10 minute drive to put the game away with a touchdown run.

It was something Big 10 football teams will watch and marvel at for years to come.

Panthers defeat Cardinals 34-10

Two QB systems rarely work, but if the Panthers wanted to use PJ Walker and Cam Newton similar to how Florida used Chris Leak and Tim Tebow back in 2006, it could be huge for the Panthers success.

The defense is great. They just need a spark on offense.

Cam Newton gives them one.

Vikings defeat Chargers 27-20

The Chargers started the season so hot. I had such hope for them.

Alas, the Chargers seem to be inevitable in how they’ll let you down.

Eagles defeat Broncos 30-13

Wow maybe Jalen Hurts is actually good and the Eagles losing to teams they were inherently worse than and blaming it all on Jalen was a gigantic overreaction.

Packers defeat Seahawks 17-0

Russell Wilson is a better quarterback than Geno Smith.

Geno Smith would have won that game instead of Russell Wilson.

I respect how hard Russell fought to come back and help his team, but he wasn’t ready.

Geno may not be the greatest quarterback in the world, but Wilson missed far too many throws that Geno would have made.

Chiefs defeat Raiders 41-14

Reports of the Chiefs death were greatly exaggerated…

Well. In football.

Historically speaking, it’s not that exaggerated.

49ers defeat Rams 31-10

There are some teams where it really doesn’t matter how good one team is or not.

The Kyle Shannahan led Niners simply own the Sean McVay led Rams.

If only Shannahan had as much success against other teams…
