Brian’s College Football Top 5: Week 11

Can you believe there are only two weeks left of the college football regular season?

After that, we’re stuck with boring NFL games.

Booooooooo!

Anyway, here’s this weeks top 5.

5. Georgia State Panthers

A few weeks ago, Georgia State came tantalizingly close to upsetting Louisiana-Lafayette on the road but just fell short.

They didn’t make that mistake this time, beating Coastal Carolina on the road for a huge upset win.

The Panthers may not have the best record, but an upset win is always fun.

4. Baylor Bears

Baylor always plays Oklahoma tough, so them beating a weaker OU team isn’t that surprising.

But it’s not just that they won the game. It was the end of the game that puts them on the list.

After Lincoln Riley was upset about fans rushing the field, the officials got the fans off the field so they could run off the one final second in a 10 point game Oklahoma had no possibility of winning.

So what does Baylor do?

They kick a field goal.

Baylor fans, always willing to justify the disrespectful things their football team does, pointed out that this was because of a tiebreaker in the Big 12 standings.

And while that is true, it’s much less fun than Dave Aranda deciding to be extremely petty and run up the score.

Being rude is funny in the right circumstances.

3. Texas Tech Red Raiders

There really is nothing better than drilling a 62 yard field goal for the win.

People rightfully clown on college kickers, but not this time around.

2. Mississippi State Bulldogs

Will Rogers went off once again, and State climbed all the way back from being down 28-3 to upset Auburn on the road.

That’s all I feel like talking about let’s just get to what we all came here for.

1. Kansas Jayhawks

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH KANSAS BEAT TEXAS!

IN AUSTIN!

And while this is the first time that’s ever happened, and is objectively extremely hilarious, it’s not entirely unexpected.

Obviously, Kansas beat Texas back in 2016 which became the delight of meme fans everywhere, but in 2018, Kansas only lost by 7.

And in 2019, the most recent time they played before Saturday night, it took a game winning field goal as time expired for Texas to get a 2 point win over Kansas in Austin.

Kansas seems to have Texas’ number, and a change of coach doesn’t seem to change that.

And if Longhorn fans are looking for someone to blame, look no further than myself and Jake Jennings who both said in the 2nd quarter of the Texas-Oklahoma game that Texas looks like the best team in the Big 12.

They collapsed in that game and lost, and haven’t won a game since.

Whoops!
