MLB Playoff Takeaways: Championship Series

The Championship Series has been completed and, frankly, it’s something we all should have foreseen.

Blue Jays defeat Mariners 4-3

When the Mariners took a surprising 2-0 lead in Toronto, was anyone surprised that they had two terrible games at home to level the series at 2?

When they had a fantastic game 5 grand slam to take a 3-2 series lead, was anyone surprised that they played a horrible game six to lead to a game seven?

And when they led game seven 3-1 in the 7th inning, was anyone surprised they blew it thanks to one swing from former Astro George Springer who destroyed their pitching all series?

If you were surprised, you don’t know the Seattle Mariners very well.

Credit to the Blue Jays for fighting back yet again for the 18th comeback win of the season, and in the biggest spot imaginable, but this was always the likely outcome.

Dodgers defeat Brewers 4-0

When the Dodgers signed Ohtani (and every other good player under the sun) people assumed the Dodgers dynasty was imminent.

It looked like it was going south this year though, thanks to some very poor bullpen play.

But lo and behold, the bullpen got fixed, and the Dodgers have breezed through the postseason to get back to the World Series.

Again, is anyone surprised?

World Series Prediction

The Blue Jays have good pitching, and insanely deep lineup, and strong resiliency.

But this is the Dodgers, and it looks like their biggest problem is fixed.

I don’t see how there’s any other outcome.

The Los Angeles Dodgers Win the World Series.
