The Top 10 “Silly Songs With Larry” From VeggieTales

My wife and I were scrolling on Tik Tok and saw a video of a dog who loved the theme song to VeggieTales.

We then tried it with our dog (he cared a little but not too much) and then I fell down the rabbit hole of Silly Songs With Larry.

I then sent friends of mine videos who then decided that I should make a top 10.

So here I am. Making the list.

There are 35 of these, and I listened to all of them. That’s how dedicated I am to your entertainment.

You’re welcome.

So let’s go.

10. The Water Buffalo Song

The Water Buffalo song is not the longest Silly Song. It’s not the best Silly Song.

Hell, it may not even be a top 10 Silly Song.

But it was the original, and we have to pay respects to what started it all.

9. The Hairbrush Song

The Hairbrush Song is one of the all time classics, but may I just say I think it’s a tad bit overrated.

I love the theme of it being a stage show with a narrator, and I LOVE the part where the camera zooms in on Bob’s dramatic line of “CAUSE HE’S GOT HAIR!”

A classic.

Still, there are better options at hand.

8. The Yodeling Veterinarian Of The Alps

Who doesn’t love a barbershop quartet?

The yodeling may be a bit annoying, but it is a funny premise with a clever pay off in the end.

It’s silly.

7. Endangered Love

The back and forth between Barbara and Bill is iconic.

Bill being rude to Barbara that she can not come with him to the ball because he has to go see the world and she can’t speak French (hey it’s not so easy, Bill) and then she gives it right back to him because he can’t dance (IT’S NOT SO EASY, BARBARA).

Add in Larry being extremely hooked on a TV show, something everyone can relate to, and you have a hit.

Oh, and Bob? Don’t tell Larry to read a book.

He likes the show, ok?

Nerd.

6. The Dance Of The Cucumber

First things first, it taught kids Spanish if they memorized the lyrics. That’s good and important and all.

But more importantly, Larry gives it back to Bob that he can’t dance or sing and I know I just said Barbara and Bill shouldn’t be so rude but you know what? Bob deserves it for being so judgmental to Larry for his show.

It’s not so fun, is it, Bob?

And I know VeggieTales was about God and God says to turn the other cheek and all that but sue me. It’s deserved this time cause they’re fake vegetables.

5. Larry’s High Silk Hat

Larry’s High Silk Hat has you on the edge of your seat.

Larry looks fly as hell, but he has to make sure he saves his chocolate from the burning hot sun.

What does he do? Does he save the chocolate at the risk of his silk hat and also his sweet looks?

Does he risk it and have melty chocolate?

Does any of this matter?

Yeah. It does.

It also has an excellent pay off at the end when you realize that one of the scallions that has been around the whole shows existence was never given a name.

I’ll give him one now.

Steven.

There you go. Steven the Scallion.

4. Love My Lips

It’s a goofy song, and as a standalone doesn’t deserve a top 5 spot, but the breakdown of Larry explaining that his Polish friend once got stung by a bee on the lip and he learned the word for lip in Polish is Usta is excellent.

Also, special shoutout to Larry for being in therapy.

Nice job, Larry.

3. His Cheeseburger

Larry takes a step aside so that Mr. Lunt can perform a dramatic love ballad to a cheeseburger.

Not only is the song excellent and a classic 80s style love song, but it’s about my favorite food.

I love cheeseburgers.

And I will be back for them.

Probably later tonight, to be honest.

2. The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything

This may be the most iconic Silly Song there is.

It’s so popular, that it even led to its own movie.

As a song, it’s catchy, it’s clever, and it even makes a Red Sox joke because it was made before the Red Sox won the World Series.

Is that last part true? Probably not.

But I’ll be damned if I take the line “I’ve never been to Boston in the fall” as anything other than that.

1. The Song of the Cebu

This has been a pretty silly list, which makes sense because these are silly songs.

The silliness stops with The Song of the Cebu.

This song is good. Legitimately good.

It has hints of “Africa” by Toto in it. It’s catchy. It’s funny.

I mean the part with the mute cebu? I’m 29 years old. I’m a grown man. I still laughed hard at it.

Add in the random powerpoint photos and truthfully, this could fit seamlessly in an older episode of Spongebob.

The Song of the Cebu is a top tier hit, and the best of all the Silly Songs With Larry.
