NFL Week 16 Takeaways

Look, this is going to be sort of half-assed, because I spent the weekend with family and didn’t get to watch a ton of football.

But regardless, let’s talk about it!

Jaguars defeat Jets 19-3

Maybe we should stop overhyping guys that throw really far on pro days.

Zach Wilson has some talent, but it was always completely stupid that he was deemed a better pro prospect than Justin Fields.

Bills defeat Bears 35-13

It was nice to see the Bills have a good game running the ball, but Josh Allen’s struggles are starting to concern me.

Saints defeat Browns 17-10

Boy, it really is a big shame that Deshaun Watson is playing terrible football.

Even if the Cleveland Propaganda Machine says otherwise…

Chiefs defeat Seahawks 24-10

The last few games for the Chiefs made some believe that they’ll need Mahomes to be at his very best if they want to win a Super Bowl.

The Chiefs shutting down Geno and the Seahawks offense on Sunday shows otherwise.

And no, the Seahawks still should not draft a quarterback with their first round picks.

Vikings defeat Giants 27-24

Vikings.

One score games.

Normal stuff.

Bengals defeat Patriots 22-18

The Bengals almost let this one slip away, so that’s kind of concerning.

Still, a win is a win.

Panthers defeat Lions 37-23

Sam Darnold is playing well.

There. I said it.

I’m as surprised as you are.

Granted, the Lions defense isn’t very good.

But that was a winnable game for Detroit and their playoff chances, and now they’re in some trouble.

Ravens defeat Falcons 17-9

I like Tyler Huntley.

He’s a backup for a reason.

Write Lamar Jackson a blank check.

Texans defeat Titans 19-14

See earlier about Zach Wilson.

I felt like this was a bit unfair. After all, Malik Willis was a 4th rounder and not the 2nd overall pick.

But then I remembered how many Titans fans were so ready to replace Ryan Tannehill, the guy who had them as top seed in the AFC last season, with Willis and then I felt it was warranted.

Guys throwing far during pro days does not mean they are automatically good.

Remember this when you watch Anthony Richardson.

49ers defeat Commanders 37-20

The Niners are really, really good.

I still don’t think they win a Super Bowl with Brock Purdy at the helm.

Cowboys defeat Eagles 40-34

This game taught us nothing.

Dak and the Cowboys are a really good team!

The Eagles, when Jalen Hurts is healthy, are better!

Steelers defeat Raiders 13-10

This game was a fitting tribute to Franco Harris, as the Steelers won in the last seconds.

It was also a fitting tribute to pain and misery, because this game was painful to watch!

Packers defeat Dolphins 26-20

The Packers are somehow still alive, and the NFL has a big problem on their hands if Tua was concussed in the 2nd quarter but kept playing.

Rams defeat Broncos 51-14

Nathaniel Hackett had to get fired. Simple as that.

But the Broncos problems aren’t going away because of that move.

Russ needs to figure it out quickly. He’s awful right now.

Buccaneers defeat Cardinals 19-16

Chargers defeat Colts 20-3

The Chargers clinched a playoff spot!

Which is why it’s been really weird the past few days to hear everyone say all the time that Brandon Staley needs to be fired.

Whatever. Good for the Chargers.

The playoffs will at least look a little bit better.

Was it a good week?

I’m not even going to count it.

I can just tell from the vibes.

It was a bad week.
