NFL Week 15 Takeaways

Boy, that was a weird week, eh?

You’re watching a game, you get in your car for five minutes, and suddenly the game has turned completely upside down.

So let’s get into it.

49ers defeat Seahawks 21-13

The Niners haven’t given up 20 or more points since October 23rd.

I bring that up for a couple reasons.

  1. The Niners defense is absolutely incredible

  2. Maybe people should relax about already jumping the ship on Geno, considering the Niners do this to everyone.

Vikings defeat Colts 39-36

This one is on us.

You didn’t need to pick who was going to win the game, but the Colts, led by Matt Ryan, were up 33-0 at halftime against the Vikings, a team who is addicted to one score games.

We all should’ve known the Vikings would come back and make it interesting.

Browns defeat Ravens 13-3

Oddly enough, Lamar Jackson’s injury might just be what makes the Ravens pay him what he wants.

Because good heavens, this offense is dreadful without him.

Bills defeat Dolphins 32-29

This game was fun, the crowd was into it, and everyone had a great time.

But sure, let’s keep building domes and having Super Bowl’s in warm places.

Cowards…

Eagles defeat Bears 25-20

Jalen Hurts and Justin Fields are not perfect quarterbacks, but damn they sure are fun.

The NFC has a nice future with those two around.

Saints defeat Falcons 21-18

The Falcons finally made the switch I’ve been begging them to make to see what Desmond Ridder has.

The verdict after one game? Not a lot!

But one game isn’t the end all be all. Let’s hope he sticks with it and gets better.

Lions defeat Jets 20-17

It’s likely that the Lions or the Seahawks are going to make the playoffs and have a top 5 pick, and with how they’re playing and the remaining schedule in front of them, my money is on the Lions.

What a turnaround they’ve had.

Steelers defeat Panthers 24-16

The Panthers sure do play hard.

They’re still not good, but they play hard!

And the Steelers have a chance to win out and keep Mike Tomlin’s streak of no losing season’s alive.

Will they do it? My guess is no.

But they still could!

Jaguars defeat Cowboys 40-34

The Jaguars season can be described with that meme from The Babadook where the woman yells at her kid “Why can’t you be normal?”

This team makes no damn sense, man.

Chiefs defeat Texans 30-24

Nothing to see here. Just the Chiefs playing with their food before eating.

Broncos defeat Cardinals 24-15

This is two games in a row the Broncos offense actually seems to be functioning properly.

The season is still lost, and they might not have had that luck if the Cardinals weren’t also a tire fire but baby steps!

Raiders defeat Patriots 30-24

You already know what happened here. You don’t need me to say anything about.

If you somehow DON’T know what happened here, then here you go and you’re welcome.

Chargers defeat Titans 17-14

This game wasn’t very good, and I’m going to blame both offenses for being quite boring.

You’re both not super popular teams. The least you could do is be exciting.

Bengals defeat Buccaneers 34-23

The Bucs defense was smothering the Bengals offense all game, and then they decided to try a fake punt which failed spectacularly for some reason.

The Bengals only got a field goal out of it to make it 17-6 so it wasn’t a complete back breaker and the Bengals offense still needed to get it in gear to win, which they did.

But still, what a stupid play call.

The Bucs just really aren’t well coached at all.

Giants defeat Commanders 20-12

The NFL should use the Commanders last drive of this game as classroom instructions for future NFL officials on what not to do.

It was so bad.

Although, it did take away a chance for the Commanders to tie the game at 20, which is the exact score they had last time they tied the Giants just a few weeks ago.

Maybe they did us all a favor…

Packers defeat Rams 24-12

If you spent your Monday night watching two bad teams play a (likely) meaningless football game, then congratulations. You are a better fan than I am.

Was it a good week?

Good games: Colts vs Vikings, Dolphins vs Bills, Cowboys vs Jaguars, Patriots vs Raiders

Bad games: Ravens vs Browns, Cardinals vs Broncos, Titans vs Chargers, Giants vs Commanders, Rams vs Packers

It was a bad week :(

Although, even for a bad week, it gave us more Matt Ryan memes and the view of Mac Jones getting stiff armed into the shadow realm. And for that, I appreciate it.
