NFL Week 13 Takeaways

We have hit December, which means the playoff races are getting tighter and tighter, and each game is even more important.

It’s also the month I realized some teams still haven’t had a bye week yet? Which seems absurd.

Regardless, let’s discuss this weekend of football.

Bills defeat Patriots 24-10

I don’t know guys.

Maybe the Patriots having a defensive coordinator be offensive coordinator was a bad idea.

Steelers defeat Falcons 19-16

It is so very Falcons to be smack in the middle of the NFC South title race and blow it because they refuse to make the switch to Desmond Ridder.

We’ve seen Mariota.

Let’s move on and see what Ridder has.

Packers defeat Bears 28-19

Doesn’t matter what type of season the Packers are having.

Aaron Rodgers still loves to beat the Bears.

I bet Chicago won’t miss him at all once he retires.

Lions defeat Jaguars 40-14

The Lions are good.

Which rules.

Are they a playoff team this year? Ehhh I won’t go that far.

But after a slow start, they’ve definitely turned it up.

Vikings defeat Jets 27-22

Last year, the Vikings broke the record for one score games in a season, losing most of them.

This year, they’re still in a bunch of one score games, but this time they’re winning.

Progress!

Commanders and Giants tie 20-20

These two teams are good and well coached but need better quarterbacks.

It seems fitting for them to tie.

Eagles defeat Titans 35-10

Well, the Eagles finally played a good team.

Any questions?

Ravens defeat Broncos 10-9

I’ve said multiple times that the blame for the Broncos goes all around, from Hackett to the offensive line and to Russell Wilson.

But let’s give some blame to Broncos GM George Paton, who gave a 34 year old quarterback coming off an injury 250 million dollars before seeing him play a snap in Denver.

The Broncos are trapped, and it’s because of Paton.

As for the Ravens, I have no friggin idea what to expect from them.

Browns defeat Texans 27-14

The Browns scored 27 points and didn’t score a single offensive touchdown.

Once again, not so sure Davis Mills was the problem in Houston…

Seahawks defeat Rams 27-23

Geno Smith led a 4th quarter comeback for the Seahawks to win, which means that question is officially answered.

It also means that the Seahawks can use their first round picks on defensive players, because good heavens do they need a better defensive line.

49ers defeat Dolphins 33-17

Here are some quarterbacks that have had bad games against the Niners.

  • Justin Fields

  • Geno Smith

  • Matt Stafford

  • Justin Herbert

  • Kyler Murray

There wasn’t much discussion about them. After all, the Niners defense is absolutely outstanding. The best in football.

Yet for some not at all shocking reason, it was the bad game from Tua this Sunday that dominates all the sports talk television.

I seriously don’t understand why Tua has a different standard than everyone else in this league does.

He was bad, but that’s what I expect against that defense with a starting tackle out.

But nope. People have already decided he’s bad. So that’s that.

Bengals defeat Chiefs 27-24

I don’t really understand how the Bengals have the Chiefs number, but they sure do.

This matchup, plus Bills vs Chiefs, is going to be very fun to watch for years to come.

Raiders defeat Chargers 27-20

I feel most people were ready to write off Josh McDaniels after the Raiders lost to the Jeff Saturday led Colts, but the Raiders are showing a lot of fight back.

As for the Chargers, it’s another disappointing loss where they didn’t have the best game offensively.

But I’m sure people are discussing Justin Herbert on television all week.

Cowboys defeat Colts 54-19

This game was 21-19 in the 3rd quarter.

That’s pretty much all that needs to be said about what the Cowboys did Sunday night.

Buccaneers defeat Saints 17-16

For the 3rd time in 4 games, the Saints lost a very winnable game because the offense was completely lifeless.

I seriously don’t know what Jameis did to piss off Dennis Allen so much, but whatever it was, it likely cost the Saints 3 wins and a division title.

Was it a good week?

Good games: Jets vs Vikings, Seahawks vs Rams, Chiefs vs Bengals

Bad games: Broncos vs Ravens, Browns vs Texans, Buccaneers vs Saints

We have a tie!

But ties are dumb and I don’t like them, so we need a tiebreaker.

And SINCE ties are dumb, I will use the Commanders and Giants ending in a boring tie as the tiebreaker.

It was a bad week!

Everyone can thank that boring overtime for the loss. I hope everyone’s excited to watch it again on Sunday Night Football in a couple weeks time.
