NFL Takeaways: Week 8
It’s contender or pretender season, and I can’t lie to you.
There is still quite a few teams that I can’t figure out.
Let’s dive into it.
Bills defeat Buccaneers 24-18
This game wasn’t as close as the score indicates, but also it’s pretty concerning the Bills dominated this game and were still one Hail Mary away from losing it.
Something to keep an eye on for sure.
Cowboys defeat Rams 43-20
This was an absolute dominating performance from the Cowboys. It was the type of performance we expect from a team that talented.
The issue is, that consistency doesn’t stick around.
They have a big game against Philly this weekend. They can make a statement there.
Jaguars defeat Steelers 20-10
I don’t know if Kenny Pickett is the guy or not, but I can guarantee that Mitch Trubisky isn’t.
Vikings defeat Packers 24-10
The Vikings started putting together some wins. They have the easy part of their schedule coming up. Justin Jefferson will soon return.
And Kirk Cousins goes and tears his achilles.
Typical Vikings luck.
Titans defeat Falcons 28-23
It was only one start, but man Will Levis looked really, really good.
His 4th touchdown pass was the best throw of the weekend for me.
Saints defeat Colts 38-27
The Saints desperately needed that offensive performance after last weeks debacle against the Jaguars.
Let’s see if this is a springboard.
Dolphins defeat Patriots 31-17
Miami beats the Patriots in Miami. Big shock.
Even when the Patriots had Brady, that was a thing.
No difference now.
Jets defeat Giants 13-10
This game was an absolute tire fire and both teams should feel bad for making us witness it.
Eagles defeat Commanders 38-31
Watch out, NFL.
Jalen Hurts is getting back into form.
Panthers defeat Texans 15-13
Two teams with solid defenses making rookie QBs struggle.
This was always going to be a slug fest. Good for Bryce Young to get his first career win, though.
Here’s to hopefully many more.
Seahawks defeat Browns 24-20
The Seahawks didn’t score a 2nd half touchdown for almost a month.
Then on Sunday, they broke that with a game winning touchdown with 45 seconds left.
Not a bad time to break that slump.
Broncos defeat Chiefs 24-9
Sean Payton deserves a lot of credit for how much this defense has turned things around, but we seriously need to talk about the Chiefs.
This offense is lethargic and a big, big mess right now.
Mahomes needs to go Superman mode to overcome it, and that’s exactly when he starts making mistakes, such as Sunday.
Ravens defeat Cardinals 31-24
The Cardinals, once again, play very very tough football.
They just need more talent.
Bengals defeat 49ers 31-17
Joe Burrow finally looks to be 100%, and the Bengals offense looked absolutely unstoppable.
The AFC better take notice.
Chargers defeat Bears 30-13
Turns out, when not playing Josh McDaniels, Tyson Bagent isn’t super good.
Speaking of which.
Lions defeat Raiders 26-14
Josh McDaniels is a bad coach.
He’s bad in Vegas. He was bad in Denver. The only times he has been considered a good coach is when he was coaching the greatest quarterback ever.
He may be a good coordinator, but let’s stop wasting time. He is not a head coach.
