NFL Takeaways: Week 6

And just like that, there are no more undefeated teams in the NFL.

The ‘72 Dolphins survive once again, and in large part due to some very big upsets.

Let’s dive right into it.

Chiefs defeat Broncos 19-8

I could talk about Denver.

I could talk about how Russell Wilson is playing terribly and Sean Payton is doing a horrible job coaching this team.

But we all know that.

The real thing I took away from this game is how the Chiefs offense is struggling.

The Broncos were the worst defense in football all year long, and the Chiefs offense still couldn’t get anything going.

Either the lack of receivers are a big issue, or maybe it’s losing Eric Bienemy to the Commanders.

But something is wrong. It’s obvious.

Ravens defeat Titans 24-16

It might be time for the Titans to see what Will Levis can give them.

I’m not sure Tannehill has it anymore.

Commanders defeat Falcons 24-16

Speaking of Eric Bienemy, Sam Howell looks good in Washington!

Might be something to keep an eye on this season.

Vikings defeat Bears 19-13

6 games played.

6 one score games.

I love the Vikings.

Bengals defeat Seahawks 17-13

The Seahawks defense was absolutely amazing, and the Seahawks offense from their own goal line to the opponents 20 was fantastic.

The Seahawks red zone offense?

That was pretty much as bad as it could possibly be.

And that’s how you end up with a loss.

Browns defeat 49ers 19-17

Three things about this game.

  1. I don’t want to hear about the Niners losing Christian McCaffery and Deebo Samuel. They still had George Kittle and Brandon Aiyuk who are pro bowlers themselves. The offense was horrible. Full stop.

  2. Kyle Shanahan continues to pass while leading late in games despite it never working. Go figure, it didn’t work this time either.

  3. This 2023 team is exactly like the 2019 team, including the late drive mainly due to yards after catch that sets up a potential game winning field goal.

And if anyone is mad I keep saying the 2023 team is the same as the 2019 team, the 2019 team should have won the Super Bowl.

There’s worse comparisons!

Dolphins defeat Panthers 42-21

The Panthers got off to a quick start.

And then the Dolphins went into Dolphins mode.

If you don’t have a favorite football team, watch the Dolphins.

They are a blast.

Jaguars defeat Colts 37-20

The Jags beating the Colts at home.

Tale as old as time.

Texans defeat Saints 20-13

Another game against a tough defense, and another good performance from C.J. Stroud.

The kid is good.

Raiders defeat Patriots 21-17

Bill Belichick can’t draft. He can’t put together an offense.

Mac Jones isn’t the guy.

I think it may just be time for the Patriots and Belichick to move on.

I’d love to see Bill coach Navy!

Rams defeat Cardinals 26-9

The Cardinals work so so hard.

They just aren’t good enough.

Jets defeat Eagles 20-14

The Eagles essentially threw this game away.

It was ugly, but it’s not cause for total concern.

Yet, anyway.

Lions defeat Buccaneers 20-6

The Bucs creamsicle jerseys look incredible, but it was also an era when they played horrible football.

Maybe they’re cursed!

Bills defeat Giants 14-9

The Giants really should have won this game, but poor play calling late ruined their chance.

Not to mention Brian Daboll throwing his QB under the bus on back to back weeks.

The reigning coach of the year isn’t doing such a good job this year.

Cowboys defeat Chargers 20-17

The talk of the town this weekend is if Brock Purdy can get it done late with the game on the line.

Nobody seems to be talking about it with Justin Herbert, who has failed to do so countless times over his career.

It doesn’t make him a bad player, but it’s definitely something to note.
