NFL Takeaways: Week 15

I hope everyone enjoyed the last weekend without NFL games on Saturday.

Or Friday. Or Wednesday. Or whatever day the NFL decides to put it on.

Dumb NFL…

Rams defeat 49ers 12-6

This game becoming a referendum on Brock Purdy, despite Matt Stafford also playing horribly, is yet another example of how annoying NFL discourse is.

Both offenses stunk. The game was a rainy sloppy mess.

That’s all that needs to be said.

Chiefs defeat Browns 21-7

As far as I know, Patrick Mahomes is ok to continue playing after his ankle injury.

Regardless, the Chiefs offensive line is a serious issue that can drastically hurt them come playoff time.

Bengals defeat Titans 37-27

This game was an absolute mess.

Insane amounts of turnovers. Insane amounts of penalties.

Just absolutely gross football.

Commanders defeat Saints 20-19

This was a big win for the Commanders playoff hopes, and a crucial way to avoid a devastating loss.

It’s the kind of win playoff teams get.

They’re one step closer.

Ravens defeat Giants 35-14

Lamar Jackson good.

Giants bad.

Cowboys defeat Panthers 30-14

It is peak, peak Panthers that they have played some really good football and lost to good teams, finally were favored for the first time in years, and decided to stink up the joint again.

Just classic.

Jets defeat Jaguars 32-25

Mac Jones played really well for most of the game, and then would have the dumbest interception imaginable.

Add that in with Davante Adams randomly deciding to be elite again, and you get a Jets win.

Texans defeat Dolphins 20-12

It feels like this Dolphins era has run it’s course, right?

I don’t know if it’s Tua, Mike McDaniel, or GM Chris Grier, but something has to change this offseason.

Because this ain’t working.

Broncos defeat Colts 31-13

Anthony Richardson once again had insane moments, both good and bad, and barely completed any passes.

Despite that, the Colts were about to take a 20-7 lead in the 4th quarter on a long Jonathan Taylor run.

And then, Taylor dropped the ball at the goal line for a fumble and touchback. The game would remain at 13-7.

The Broncos went on to outscore the Colts 24-0 after that and blow their doors off and likely keep them out of the playoffs.

Brutal loss.

Bills defeat Lions 48-42

The Lions are one of the two teams I believe in in the NFC, and it makes complete sense for the Lions that this is the year they have been insanely injured to the point where it feels like the football gods have abandoned them.

Just extremely unfair.

Oh, and Josh Allen is really, really good.

Eagles defeat Steelers 27-13

The Steelers had two drives in the second half.

That’s it. Two drives.

The Eagles wanted to make a statement, and they damn well made it.

But, Jalen? And the rest of the Eagles for that matter.

Don’t act like it was all a big bunch of nothing that people in the media were wondering about the locker room in Philadelphia.

Y’all are the ones who created the drama after a win last week.

Don’t throw dogs a pile of meat and then get mad they go after it.

Cardinals defeat Patriots 30-17

I like Drake Maye. He’s pretty good.

The rest of the Patriots, including the coaching staff, can go.

Buccaneers defeat Chargers 40-17

Baker Mayfield is absolutely balling.

Just an absolutely dominant stretch right now.

Packers defeat Seahawks 30-13

Geno Smith did not have a good game, but I hope everyone who still thinks he’s not good overall had a nice view of what the Seahawks look like without him.

After Smith’s injury, backup QB Sam Howell dropped back to pass 18 times.

In those 18 plays, the Seahawks had -11 yards and a turnover.

This team would be one of the bottom feeders without Geno Smith.

That can still be true even when he has a bad game.

Vikings defeat Bears 30-12

The vibes in Minnesota are tremendous.

The vibes in Chicago are terrible.

I’m not kidding, I think the Bears need to sit Caleb Williams for the rest of the year.

Not for performance, but for injury possibility.

This season is over. Don’t risk Williams’ health needlessly.

Falcons defeat Raiders 15-9

Stop putting two games on Monday Night Football.

I hate you, NFL.

You deserve this garbage football game being the second one on TV. It just isn’t at all necessary.
