NFL Takeaways: Week 12

There were some really good games this week, and yet still nothing was as interesting as the day of college football on Saturday.

I’m going to beat this opinion into the ground.

Here’s what we learned from week 12.

Bears defeat Lions 16-14

The Lions try so hard. I feel so bad.

Raiders defeat Cowboys 36-33

The Raiders deserve a ton of credit for not completely collapsing after everything they’ve been through this year.

They aren’t a playoff team, but good for them.

Bills defeat Saints 31-6

The Chiefs are getting better. The Bills are getting better.

It feels like the pre-season AFC predictions are heading towards truth.

Bengals defeat Steelers 41-10

Ben just has to go.

It’s time.

It’s actually well passed time, but he needs to go.

Buccaneers defeat Colts 38-31

Carson Wentz was so good in the first half.

But a (very well done) interception from Antoine Winfield and plenty of other turnovers derailed a great chance to catch Tennessee in the AFC South.

Missed opportunity.

Dolphins defeat Panthers 33-10

Tua looks great.

Maybe we need to give younger QBs more time.

Crazy, isn’t it?

Patriots defeat Titans 36-13

Ugh.

The Patriots are going to go to the Super Bowl, aren’t they?

Giants defeat Eagles 13-7

We need football coaches to take a page out of Nick Saban’s (or baseball managers) book.

It was clear early on that Jalen Hurts didn’t have it on Sunday, much like how some pitchers in baseball don’t have their best stuff.

He’s not going to lose his starting job, but pull him.

Put in Minshew for a couple drives. See what happens.

They’re big boys. They’ll be fine.

Unless they’re Carson Wentz.

Falcons defeat Jaguars 21-14

Jags fans have to be thrilled that the Notre Dame job is now open.

Get Urban Meyer the hell out of there.

Jets defeat Texans 21-14

This was a football game that was on television.

Yep! Sure was!

Although, it did give us this…

Broncos defeat Chargers 28-13

I’m sure he’ll be fine (and I hope he is fine because he’s fun to watch), but it’s time to talk about Justin Herbert’s struggles.

We have no problem talking about everyone else’s. Is it because Herbert burst onto the scene and others didn’t?

Who knows, but he’s struggled.

Packers defeat Rams 36-28

The Rams are winless since trading for Von Miller and signing OBJ.

Just saying!

49ers defeat Vikings 34-26

Man, the Niners are really turning things around.

Jimmy G ain’t giving up that starting spot easily…

Ravens defeat Browns 16-10

The Ravens continue to win without looking very good at all.

But hey, a win is a win!

They shouldn’t complain one bit.

Washington defeats the Seahawks 17-15

If Geno Smith had played the last 3 weeks instead of Russell Wilson, the Seahawks could very realistically be 3-0 instead of 0-3.

I’m not saying the Seahawks should trade Russ. I’m sure he’ll turn it around.

But you can not deny it.

Not even I, a Russell Wilson fan since preseason of his rookie year, can deny it.

He’s playing terrible football right now, and is a major reason in why they are losing.
