MLB Playoff Takeaways: Championship Series + World Series Prediction

The World Series is set, and even though it involves two teams most of the general public either don’t like or are sick of, it should still be absolutely excellent baseball.

I can’t deny that.

Let’s dive into the championship series.

Yankees defeat Guardians 4-1

There doesn’t need to be much discussion here.

Apart from an absolutely electric moment from Jhonkensey Noel and David Fry in game 3, the Guardians just did not have an answer for the Yankees.

The Yankees players are better. Their pitching was better.

Even Emmanuel Clase, who was one of, if not the best relief pitcher in baseball this season, was terrible for the Guardians.

You need your big guns to show up in the playoffs, and the Guardians don’t have many as it is.

When even they don’t show up, it’s a quick exit.

Dodgers defeat Mets 4-2

The Dodgers pitching is still very hit or miss.

It started terrible, then went on a three game stretch when it was essentially flawless, and then it went back to being bad, but then it was really good again, and then it was bad.

But none of it matters when you get the offensive production they got from their stars.

Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts were outstanding. Tommy Edman was scorching hot.

The Dodgers just have the ability to score at will, regardless of what type of pitching performance they get.

As for the Mets, it’s no consolation for a disappointing end, but it was still an incredible postseason run after what looked like a doom and gloom season.

It might just be the jumping off point to great seasons to come.

World Series Prediction

Juan Soto and Giancarlo Stanton have been amazing for the Yankees this postseason.

Jazz Chisolm and Aaron Judge, however, have not been.

They’ll need them to get going, because the main stars for the Dodgers are playing great baseball this postseason.

And I just don’t think they’ll be able to.

The Los Angeles Dodgers Win the World Series.
