4 Formula 1 Winners: Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

The 2022 Formula 1 season is officially in the books.

It feels like it went by in a flash.

Regardless, with the season over and all the results done and dusted, I figured I’d switch things up for this post and pay tribute to those who won’t be on the grid next season.

Winners

4. Nicholas Latifi

Latifi, as harsh as it may sound, simply wasn’t good enough to be a Formula 1 driver.

However, his financial backing towards Williams meant that the team was able to stay in Formula 1 and not be forced to go under.

For that, we should all be grateful.

3. Mick Schumacher

It has been amazing to see the Schumacher name back in Formula 1, and hopefully we get to see it again soon.

The rumor is Schumacher will be heading to Mercedes in a reserve driver role, and I can’t think of a better team and better drivers to help guide him back into the sport.

2. Daniel Ricciardo

The happiest man in Formula 1.

2014 was the year Ricciardo truly put himself on the map in Formula 1, with a happy smile and some great performances.

I think many people thought his career would go differently, and it’s a shame it didn’t pan out the way we thought.

But that never mattered to Ricciardo. He always had a big smile on his face.

Much like Schumacher, I hope we see him back on the grid soon.

1. Sebastian Vettel

122 podiums.

53 wins.

4 world championships.

And probably the most beloved man in the sport.

His words after his last world championship in 2013 remain true to this day.

"We have to remember these days, because there is no guarantee they will last forever. Enjoy them as long as they last.”

It doesn’t matter if you’ve watched Formula 1 for over a decade like myself, or just started watching it recently.

You can appreciate how great Sebastian Vettel is.

Danke, Seb.

Danke.
