NFL Takeaways: Week 4

Photo by Andrew Nelles from The Tennesseean

Is week 4 too early to panic?

It might be for some teams out there.

But hey, isn’t that the fun of it all? Other fanbases horrible panic that the Super Bowl they predicted isn’t coming?

I think it’s fun!

Lions defeat Packers 34-20

Back to back big wins for the Lions at Lambeau.

Dan Campbell has done a lot in Detroit to win over the fanbase, but that might be the biggest right there.

Jaguars defeat Falcons 23-7

My take for the Falcons game mainly has to do with the Bears game too so I’m just going to talk about the Toy Story broadcast.

It was a mess. It was really, really bad.

I like the effort, but it did not work at all.

Broncos defeat Bears 31-28

Life from Russell Wilson!

But holy moly, this Broncos defense is really, really bad.

That’s got to get fixed, and quick.

Now for the Bears and Falcons.

The Bears are 0-4. The Panthers are 0-4, and the Bears have their pick.

This team needs serious, serious help, and the Falcons just need a quarterback.

I think the Bears should trade Justin Fields down to Atlanta so he can help the Falcons offense thrive more, and the Bears go into full on tank mode for a QB and Marvin Harrison Jr.

Feels like a win win for everyone!

Texans defeat Steelers 30-6

C.J. Stroud can flat out ball.

I mean, really ball.

Not only does he look far and away the best QB from the 2023 draft, but he looks like a genuinely good quarterback already.

I’m excited to see his future.

The Seahawks last year.

The Cardinals and Texans this year.

Maybe the NFL media should stop assuming teams of professionals are going to be atrocious.

Bills defeat Dolphins 48-20

I was not sold on Ken Dorsey and the Bills before the season, and their opening game against the Jets did not spark much more belief.

But I’ll admit it.

I was wrong.

Since that opening game against the Jets, the Bills have been absolutely amazing offensively and Josh Allen is playing at a MVP level.

You have to give credit where it’s due. They look amazing.

Ravens defeat Browns 28-3

Don’t be fooled.

This Ravens performance against a very good Browns defense is definitely remarkable.

And can Kevin Stefanski stop being so whiny about his QB not wanting to play hurt?

Maybe he doesn’t want to risk making it worse!

What a concept!

Titans defeat Bengals 27-3

The Titans play the Bengals really well, so this wouldn’t normally be so shocking.

But man, Joe Burrow needs to just rest his leg.

This offense looks like a shell of itself, and it’s killing them.

Rams defeat Colts 29-23

People may tell you Anthony Richardson isn’t good because his stats aren’t good.

And I don’t know. They might be right.

But I can tell you this much.

The dude just has that “it” factor.

He is going to ball out every single game, and it’s awesome to watch.

Buccaneers defeat Saints 26-9

While Kevin Stefanski is whining about his QB not wanting to play hurt, the QB the Browns ran out of town because he did play hurt is 3-1 and having a great season down in Tampa.

Just saying.

Eagles defeat Commanders 34-31

I’m not sure if this game says more about Sam Howell or the Eagles secondary.

I believe in Sam Howell, so I’m going to go with that one.

Vikings defeat Panthers 21-13

The Panthers traded the farm and then some to get Bryce Young, which might end up being fine, but it looks pretty clear that he does not have anywhere near enough help right now.

Going to be a rough year in Carolina.

Chargers defeat Raiders 24-17

Once again, the Chargers try to give away the game for fun.

Once again, they somehow cheat death.

What a bonkers team.

I love them.

Cowboys defeat Patriots 38-3

Yeah, I think the Cowboys are fine.

49ers defeat Cardinals 35-16

This Niners team feels exactly like the 2019 team.

Great defense, great weapons, excellent play caller, and a quarterback that doesn’t make mistakes.

It almost won them a Super Bowl that year.

Let’s see how this one goes.

Chiefs defeat Jets 23-20

Zach Wilson was significantly better than Patrick Mahomes Sunday night.

Let me say that again, because you may not believe it but I swear that it’s true.

Zach Wilson. Was significantly better. Than Patrick Mahomes.

And despite that, the Chiefs still won.

That’s Jets football, baby!

Seahawks defeat Giants 24-3

Daniel Jones is bad, but giving him all the blame is letting the GM who paid him and the coaches who can’t coach special teams, an offensive line or Brian Daboll who threw away their quick pass scheme off the hook.

I know the Giants were missing 3 starting linemen, but so were the Seahawks, and Geno Smith did not get sacked 11 times.

There are many at fault for this Giants. It’s not just Daniel Jones.
